HAHA! Actually no relation to Michael. Happy new year to you, too! As for God, that'll take a little more response. =] First of all, I believe that God is the all-powerful creator of everything. He is holy and perfect and all-powerful and merciful and just. I believe that humans, originally created to enjoy and worship God, chose instead to find happiness on their own and ruined the relationship they had with God. This brought sin into the world. Essentially, sin is just when we do something that goes against the will of God. And because of sin, we deserve to be judged. God is so holy that he cannot stand the presence of any blemish in his presence. The Bible says that "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." But God still wanted us to be with him even though we can't live up to the standard of perfection that is required to be in his presence. And so he sent Jesus Christ, his son to come down to earth as a human. Jesus came and lived a perfect life that no human could, never sinning against God. And then he died the death that we deserve on a cross. In doing this, he took upon himself the judgement that all mankind deserved. But then Jesus did something that no human could ever do on their own! After three days he came back to life and after spending a short amount of time showing himself to various people, he went back up to Heaven to be with God and left his disciples to begin spreading his word to the rest of the world. =] That's what I believe about God!
